Community Feeding Program

Rescuing the least, the lost and the lonely by providing food to hungry people is a mainstay program of the Mission. For that reason, we serve three meals a day to the needy of the Greater-Huntington area practically every day of the year. Cooks and volunteers from all over the Tri-State come together to prepare and serve as many as 300 meals a day to men, women and children. During the summer, we extend our feeding program to serve children living in low-income neighborhoods around the city, thus ensuring that no child whose parents may not be home or have the resources to feed them is left hungry. Holidays, such as Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, are celebrated in a meaningful way with meals prepared and served by members of various churches in the downtown area. Members of area church congregations also provide special worship services, music and fellowship opportunities for our residents.
